ด้าน นายจิรายุ ห่วงทรัพย์ โฆษกประจำสำนักนายกรัฐมนตรี เปิดเผยว่า รัฐบาลได้รับรายงานจากการประชุม ศูนย์เฉพาะกิจบริหารสถานการณ์บริเวณชายแดนไทย–กัมพูชา (ศบ.ทก.) และขณะนี้ได้ส่ง หน่วยปฏิบัติการทุ่นระเบิดด้านมนุษยธรรม (นปท.) เข้าเก็บหลักฐานในพื้นที่แล้ว
คาดว่าจะใช้เวลาวิเคราะห์ 2–3 วัน เพื่อพิสูจน์ว่า ทุ่นระเบิดที่เกิดเหตุนั้น เป็นของเดิมที่ยังไม่เก็บกู้ หรือมีการวางขึ้นใหม่ ซึ่งหากพบว่าเป็นของใหม่ จะเข้าข่าย การละเมิดอนุสัญญาออตตาวา ซึ่งเป็นสนธิสัญญาห้ามใช้ทุ่นระเบิดสังหารบุคคล โดยไทยและกัมพูชาได้ร่วมลงนามตั้งแต่ปี 2542

July 18, 2025 — A social media firestorm is erupting after popular Thai Facebook page Drama Addict urged netizens to raise their voices by using the hashtags
#กัมพูชาละเมิดอนุสัญญาออตตาวา and #CambodiaviolatestheOttawaTreaty, following reports that a Thai soldier was injured by a landmine during a patrol along the Thai–Cambodian border.
The post quickly went viral, drawing thousands of shares and comments. Many online users expressed outrage and demanded transparency in the investigation.
Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, revealed that the government has received updates from the Thai–Cambodian Border Incident Response Center and that a Humanitarian Mine Action Unit has been deployed to the area.
Experts are currently collecting evidence and are expected to determine within 2–3 days whether the mine was a remnant from past conflicts or a newly planted device. If the latter is confirmed, it could constitute a violation of the Ottawa Treaty, an international agreement banning anti-personnel landmines — to which both Thailand and Cambodia have been parties since 1999.
This developing story is drawing national attention and may soon become a serious diplomatic issue.
